We pledge to:

  • Constantly strive to reduce our consumption of resources by using resources within our business efficiently
  • Continually improve our environmental practices and performance by conducting regular surveys of our business to see if we are using our resources efficiently and what aspects can be improved
  • Comply with relevant environmental legislation (as a minimum level of performance) with the expectation that we will demand more from ourselves in terms of demonstrating adherence to industry best practice principles concerning the environment
  • Monitor progress and review environmental performance on a regular basis as part of our corporate governance and operating rhythm
  • Communicate our businesses environmental aims and objectives to all staff, as well as to clients and other external stakeholders
  • Participate in discussions about environmental issues

Examples of our commitment include:

  • Walking or cycling to work, where possible, instead of driving
  • Recycling of packaging materials
  • Minimising waste
  • Efficient use of water and energy
  • Choosing ‘digital’ over printing
  • Where we print, choosing to use double sided printing
  • Switching off all computers when not in use, rather than leaving on standby
  • Switching off all office lights when not in use / not required
  • In travelling to client offices, we attempt, where possible, to car pool or use public transport (if outside of Tairāwhiti)
  • Buying locally to support our regional economy and to cut fuel costs
  • Planting native trees to offset carbon emissions
